Established on 1 January 1993 in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, Geet Vitan Kala Kendra is a registered cultural organisation under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Raipur, C.G.), dedicated to preserving and promoting Rabindranath Tagore’s cultural heritage and Indian Performing Arts. Founded by Late Shipra Bhowmik, the institution reflects her lifelong passion and commitment to nurturing artistic talent and keeping cultural traditions alive.
For over 32 years, Geet Vitan has nurtured generations of learners in Rabindra Sangeet, Hindustani Classical Music, dance, instrumental music, Chhattisgarhi folk traditions, and fine arts, carrying forward the timeless artistic vision of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. An institution affiliated with Sarbabharatiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad, Kolkata, and recognized by NITI Aayog, Government of India, it provides quality artistic education, professional guidance, and opportunities for students to showcase their talent on national and international platforms.
भिलाई के हृदय में स्थित गीत वितान कला केंद्र केवल एक शिक्षण संस्था नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय कला, संस्कृति और सृजनशीलता का एक जीवंत केंद्र है।
1 जनवरी 1993 से, गुरुदेव रवीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर की सांस्कृतिक चेतना से प्रेरित यह संस्था संगीत, नृत्य, लोककला और ललित कला के माध्यम से कलाकारों की नई पीढ़ियों को संवेदनशीलता, अनुशासन और अभिव्यक्ति का मार्ग दिखा रही है।
यहाँ कला केवल सीखी नहीं जाती— जी जाती है।

Late Shipra Bhowmik, a renowned exponent of Rabindra Sangeet, founded Geet Vitan Kala Kendra in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, on 1 January 1993. Born in Kolkata in 1962, she trained under renowned Gurus at Dakshinee, Kolkata, and Santiniketan, and earned Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. Her lifelong dedication to music and cultural preservation shaped Geet Vitan into a respected centre for music, dance, instrumental arts, and fine arts.
Her vision continues to inspire generations through music, culture, and the performing arts.
